Exploring Self-Mastery

Life twist and turns took me into a tailspin on September 26th, 2016.  I as a pedestrian, having had the right away while walking along a crosswalk, I had been knocked off my feet by a vehicle driver that drove too fast and not paying attention. As devastating and traumatic as that experience was, it’s incredible I stayed alive from a medical standpoint. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks due to internal bleeding from multiple fractures to my pelvis, that included multiple fractures in my right leg, and some rib fractures.
Once I was stable enough (after 14 day’s of hospitalization), I was transported for some long term skilled nursing rehab for care and intensive therapy where I stayed for 2 months. What a relief it was to be out of the hospital! Nonetheless, it took me a while to come around to being settled enough to not be so easily startled when wakened or startled from sleep. After my first week, I was able to extend duration of sitting forward independantly, and fully up out of bed for the first time in three weeks.
